How to Play
War Blackjack is a blackjack side bet configured for use with two, four, or six standard 52-card decks. To begin, players place a main blackjack wager and an optional War bet. The War bet is not limited to any amount relative to the main wager.
After the wagers have been placed, the player and dealer each receive one card dealt face up. The War bet is paid even money if the player’s card is higher than the dealer’s card. Otherwise, the War bet is lost. Aces are the lowest card in War Blackjack.
Losing wagers are collected immediately by the dealer. Winning wagers are allowed to be parlayed, in which the winnings are moved to the main blackjack wager, and the original wager is returned to the player. If the player does not parlay, the War bet winnings and original wager are returned to the player.
After the War bet is resolved, the main blackjack game continues following table procedures. If the main blackjack wager has been capped with the winnings from the War bet, the capped wager is treated as the normal wager for all double downs, splits, blackjacks, and surrenders.
Combining the optional Pre Game War wager with the mandatory Blackjack wager, for two games in one hand, linking the two by allowing the Blackjack player to ‘cap’ or ‘press’ his or her Blackjack wager with the War winnings (original bet returned to the player) AFTER seeing the dealer up card. Fun, exciting, rewarding for purists and tourists alike, and operators too with its high chip handle and hold.
